How do I use UCUs cloud storage?

User Access

To access UCU's cloud storage, go to https://cloud.ucu.ac.ug/ .To log in, enter your UCU email address and password (like in the image below)

Once you log in, the interface presented is as shown below.

1- Left hand navigation bar that has all files (favourites and those shared with you)

Files and synchronisation

Create or upload a file or document - To create a file or upload a document. Navigate and click the plus (+) icon (see illustration below)

Edit a document - Click on a document for it to open. It can be edited directly once its open. Changes are saved automatically (just like other document cloud services)

Manipulate a document - To manipulate a document (Rename, download, add to favourites, see the details, delete) select and right click it.

Share a document - documents can be shared publicly or privately

Public Share - Click the share icon (see 1 below). Click the copy to clipboard icon next to share link (see 2 below). The link can bow be pasted where needed. Share with specific permission like allow edit, password protect (see 3 below). This document can now be downloaded by the recipient

Private share - Private sharing of files or folders is only possible with UCU members of staff that have UCU email addresses. Click the share icon (see 1 below). Click the copy to clipboard icon from the internal link (see 2 below). To share the file with a user, type their email address in the search bar (see 3 below). Thereafter an email notification will be sent to the user. The shared link only works with users who have access to the file (see 4 below)

Add comment - To add a comment to a file being shared. Right click the three dots (see 1) next to the share icon and select details. Add comments to document (see 2 and 3)

File Shares - To view files or folders shared with you. Click the shares icon (1) on the left hand panel. All file shares are marked with a shared overlay icon. Public link shares are marked with a chain link (2), other shares with a shares icon and deleted shares (3) are crossed through

Frequently accessed files - To access files or folders quickly and easily, mark them as favourites by clicking add to favourites (2)
